Welcome to the Inner Kingdom
There be some standing here
Which shall not taste of death
Til they see the kingdom;
Jivan mukti, lu ma pangpar,
But how?
What you'll learn
You don’t have to die to experience heaven. It’s an incomplete idea to think that a world which is divine is something distant and far away. It could be no where else but here, now. If that’s true, then how do we experience it?
From the stillness of a 3 year, 3 month, and 3 day silent retreat, Geshe Michael wrote a poem which describes the Inner and Outer Kingdoms which every single one of us can access, and he gives advice on how to experience them--teachings which have never been retaught until now!
Kingdom?
In the poem, the Outer Kingdom refers to a world which we perceive as a constant miracle, where we have the accurate perception that everybody and everything is helping us to become the best versions of ourselves. To perceive this world, we need to remove the obstacles to living in an unstopping state of perfect meditation.
Then, the Inner Kingdom unfolds. This is a place in our heart where we know, without a shadow of a doubt, that our certain purpose for being alive is to serve others.
